Good Year So Far!!

The Lions were in the playoffs this year so we had everyone over to our house to cheer them on. Unfortunately it was not the outcome we would have liked but it was a fun season. The kids are doing great we are still battling naps with Wyatt so we are trying the quiet time routine however he is not a kid that does quiet time well. We have taken all things that we thought could stimulate him out of his room but he peels off his room decorations, pulls the lamp down and destroys his bed. Nap time is a challenge for mom and dad I just wish he understood how much better his nights are after he naps - we sure do!!! Other than that he is going through the typical 2 year old things of testing his boundaries and trying to control every situation. We went through a period of potty training accidents but that only lasted a week or two and now he seems to be doing great. He still does not tell us but is able to hold it until we take him to the potty.  We had his parent teacher conference at school and he is doing great and right on track. They said will be ready to move up to the next classroom when he is three. However the one thing he has trouble with is transition from one activity to another. When he is doing something he likes he hates to quit and go to other things -- we are trying to work on this but he breaks down at times. Kaylynn is doing well and is starting to put 3 and 4 word sentences together but her speech is not as clear as Wyatts so she gets frustrated with us at times when we do not know what she is trying to communicate. She is really getting her own personality and right now is going through a mommy clingy phase again. I just remind myself there will be a day that I want to have her sit on my lap and she will not want to do it -- Enjoy it while it lasts :) I will post more about Kaylynn after her 18 month appointment this week.
Max got a juicer so the kids like to "help" him.
The kids both like to be outside in the snow but Wyatt loves it. We have not had to much snow this year but have gotten out twice to enjoy it. This winter has been completely different from last year with sicknesses. Wyatts tubes in his ears really helped him and they just seem to be fighting things off better. We have had our occational runny nose and cough but nothing major. Thank God!! The kids are in swimming again and they are both in the Parent and Tot class. A big thanks goes out to Aunt Christy as she goes to swim class with me every other Friday so the kids could both attend swimming for this session. They both are having a great time and getting better at kicks, scoops (using their arms) and jumping in off the side of the pool. They are really beginning to enjoy playing in the water.

Wyatt and Kaylynn think being cousins to Reagan is awesome. They love it when she comes over and want to help with her but most of all they love playing with her toys.
