Taking an 8 hour car trip with two small children is not an easy task and does not take 8 hours but we had a great weekend visiting everyone in Aledo. We got there about dinner time on Friday afternoon and eat tacos, hung out, went on a few boat rides and celebrated Kaylynn and Wyatt's birthdays and Cassies Graduation from college (way to go Cass!) Here is the end product of our birthday celebration:
Needless to say they went straight to the bath tub after a pre rinse in the front yard.
On Saturday it was a bit overcast and rainy at times so so we played inside most of the day or in the garage out of the rain. Wyatt and Kaylynn both loved playing with the rocks that made up the driveway. I think Wyatt could play with them for hours. When there was a break in the weather we Grandpa and Daddy took Wyatt fishing for the first time. They were able to catch a fish and Wyatt was not too sure what to think of it. I think he was a little weirded out but maybe next year he will find it more enjoyable.
For dinner we had a great smoked prime rib and then after we had a little fun and had a Luau.
We ended the day with the good old tractor pulling event - Can anyone say Redneck. Wyatt loved it and would probably still be riding if we let him. Uncle Ryan, Uncle Michael an Mommy were the lucky riders as Grandpa pulled us on the lawn tractor.
We had to hit the road a kinda early on Sunday in order to make it home at a decent hour. The kids did pretty well but by the end Kaylynn was really ready to get out of her seat and Wyatt was doing ok since he had his Cat in the Hat to watch on my iPad. But before we left Wyatt put on a little Happy Birthday Song show for us.
Here are a few more photos from the weekend.

Wonderful! The vid/karaoke is very cute too!
