Wyatt's Birth Story

Overall Donna's pregnancy was very uneventful going to doctors appointments once every two weeks and then once a week when the due date got closer. The baby's due date, May 12th, came and went and on the 13th Donna went to the hospital for a non-stress test and a fluid level test. The non-stress test came back normal however when they did the fluid level test they found the baby had virtually no fluid so they sent Donna to be admitted and induced.  Max and I stayed at the hospital until about 1230 on the night of the 13th but decided to go home and get a good nights rest as the labor was coming along slow and Donna needed her rest. Then at 0630 we got a call from Chris telling us Donna's labor had progressed and they were going to try and give her the epidural. Max and I flew out of bed and headed to the hospital excited to meet our son for the first time. As we walked into the labor and delivery room Donna was being wheeled into the OR for a C-section because the babies heart rate was dropping really low with every contraction.  Then at 0740 Wyatt Ewing Johnson was born. Come to find out after the C-section the low heart rate was caused because the baby's head was pushing against the cord with every contraction and that was restricting blood flow to Wyatt.
After his birth he was admitted to the nursery to get checked out because at 5 lbs and 15 oz he was small for gestational age. This is when we were able to see our son for the first time as they wheeled him out of the OR, words can not explain how much love we felt for him at first sight. We had waited so long for this little blessing and for this miracle to happen it took loving people in Wyatt's life.
We walked with him as he was admitted to the nursery and then we were able to go in an love on him for the first time. All I can think of is that God had a plan for this little man and for us and we are so thankful.
