7 Months Old!!

Kaylynn has accomplished alot this month. She has mastered sitting up, is getting good at going from sitting to the crawling/laying position, and she is starting to sit up from the laying/crawling position. She is rolling all around and gets up on her hands and knees and is able to go backward but not forward. She gets frustrated at times but for the most part she is just laid back and moves until she gets herself stuck in a corner and can not go backward anymore. She is eating her solids well and continues to sleep well and has really started to nap well in her crib during the day.
Max and I took Wyatt out sledding for the first time but we started on too big of a hill and he took a little tumble and he really did not like the cold wet snow. So lesson learned for the next time but he looked cute all bundled up.
Kaylynn ventured out sledding with us as well but did not do any sledding but she was as snug as a bug in a rug in her snow suit.
Wyatt has been a ball of energy lately and with Kaylynn being more mobile and getting into more things he is paying more attention to her. Mostly to ensure she does not have any good toys but also to give her hugs and kisses and at times help me feed her a bottle. Wyatt is a little rough at times with Kaylynn and she will have to learn at a young age how to "fight" back. They are going to have fun playing together once Kaylynn gets old enough. Wyatt is talking up a storm and repeats everything you say. He also has quite a stubborn personality -- he knows what is not supposed to do but pushes your buttons and sees how far he can get without getting in trouble. We spend quite a bit of time each day re-enforcing the rules. But man is he cute and a smart little man.
Wyatt still loves to read and Kaylynn also enjoys it -- very cute picture of Daddy spending a quality afternoon with the kids. This winter sickness season has hit the Johnson household pretty hard and this last week was no different. Saturday morning Kaylynn started throwing up and could not keep anything down. Fortunately she was her normal happy self other than the vomiting thing. This lasted through Sunday night when she gave it to me and aunt Micki and we both had to miss work on Monday. Then Christy, Mom and Brianna came down with some form of the flu as well. So needless to say Kaylynn did a number on our family. I have been sick more this season then I have in many years. We took Wyatt to the ENT a few weeks ago and he has some minor hearing loss due to fluid in his ears. They checked for ear drum response and he was at 0. So the options were to try a nose spray for 6 weeks and re-check the fluid or to get tubes in his ears. Max and I opted for the nose spray to see if that works before going into surgery. So far Wyatt has been a champ at taking his nose spray medicine and that is a relief. Right now we do not see any signs that the fluid in his ears is effecting his speech but we will have to see.

I am really looking forward to spring coming and hopefully not having sick kids.

  1. What a nice update! They are both just the cutest people.
So ask Max about his first sledding experience in the gravel pit. Nice slope that ended in flat too quick...sled suddenly stops...off goes the kid!
Love that Max reads to them and that they are so engrossed in it!
    Wow! Kaylyn already 7 months.
Hope you do have a nicer spring with fewer colds etc.
